About TAProots

The TAProots website describes activities in three properties owned by Tom and Joyce Pearson. It is intended for family and friends to share in our various projects at our TAProots vineyard, orchards, and Lake Home on Keuka Lake in Upstate New York, our Florida home in Gainesville, Florida, and our wheat and canola farm in Alberta, Canada. We hope you will enjoy learning about our agrarian endeavors.

TAProots is a Limited Liability Corporation registered in New York State. It began with the purchase of a Lake Home on beautiful Keuka Lake in 2003, with five acres of forested hillside. The vineyard and orchard began around 2005 with the purchase of three parcels of land on Keuka Bluff, that now includes 34.7 acres with a producing Concord grape vineyard, vinifera grape plantings in development, orchards of pomme and stone fruit, currants, blueberries and bramble berries. A barn was added in 2008. The property was named TAProots since Tom (Thomas A. Pearson) spent many years working with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community in Rochester, who preferred the American Sign Language "TAP" as his name.
